abstractpatent foramen ovale (PFO) is the most common cause of right-to-left shunt which carries a significant risk for Stroke when associated with venous thrombosis, coagulation abnormalities or other conditions. We present a young male in whom diving was associated with stroke in a subject with otherwise clinically silent PFO.
