Germany is highly developed and a stable democracy with modern economic. Tourist facilities are highly developed. In larger towns, many people can communicate in English.

CRIME: Germany has a low rate of crime.

MEDICAL FACILITIES: Good medical care is available. Doctors and hospitals may expect immediate payment in cash for health services from tourists and persons with no permanent address in Germany. Most doctors, hospitals and pharmacies do not accept credit cards.

• Tick-borne encephalitis in the the forests from april to august

We recommend:

• Usage of long-sleeved shirt and long pants to wear whenever possible while outside, to prevent illnesses carried by insects
• Usage of insect repellent containing DEET (diethylmethyltoluamide), in 30%–35% strength for adults and 6%–10% for children. Unless you are staying in air-conditioned or well-screened housing

• Travellers diarrhoea

Vaccination recommendation:

• A booster for tetanus/diphtheria - if not covered which indicates not vaccinated within the last 10 years.

Stay healthy:

• Always use latex condoms to reduce the risk of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.
